Alta Management
On the Alta Management page, you can view your Dairies and Bull list, as well as edit your dairy's currency, manually add bulls, and more. Access the Alta Management tools for PULSE's genetic planning tool by selecting Alta Management from your user menu at the top right of the page. If you have more permissions, you may see additional tools.

All users can view and use the Alta Management features in the Dairies and Bull List tabs. Some roles may see additional tools. If you have questions about your role or permissions, contact your Alta admin.
The list includes each available role for the genetic planning tool in PULSE.
- Consultant: This role allows you to access the genetic planning tool for your assigned dairies.
- Manager: This role allows you to access the genetic planning tool for your assigned dairies and the dairies assigned to the consultants you manage.
- Administrator: This role allows you to access the genetic planning tool for all dairies, as well as add or remove consultants and assign roles.

Use the Dairies tab to view all dairies linked to your account.
- Filters: You can filter the list by consultant to narrow the results or search for a specific dairy.
- Dairies List: Each entry includes the dairy name, herd code, a list of consultants associated with the dairy, and the currency used, which you can update if needed.
- Dairy Details: Click on any dairy's name to open the Dairy Profile page to see more information about the dairy.

- In PULSE, click on your user name in the upper right corner, and select Alta Management to open the Alta Management page.
- In the Dairies tab, click the Edit button
next to the current currency and select the new currency from the drop-down list.
- Click the Save button
to apply your changes.

Open the Bull List tab to view bulls that have been manually added in the last 7 days.
- Filters: By default, the list only shows bulls added in the last 7 days. Clear or adjust the filters to view all bulls from proofs and bulls that have been manually added.
- Bull List: Each entry includes the bull's registration information, parentage, and the country where the bull information originated from. If the bull was added manually, it also includes the consultant that added the bull.
- Bull Details: To view a bull's details, click its IntRegNum to open the animal's information in a side panel and click See More Info at the bottom right corner of the side panel.
- Add Bull: You can manually add a bull if the genetic planning tool cannot recognize or find it. Click Add Bull in the upper right corner and enter the bull's information. See Manually Add A Bull to learn more.

If you have the correct role and permissions, you can add bulls that the genetic planning tool cannot recognize or find:
- In PULSE, click on your user name in the upper right corner, then select Alta Management from the drop-down list to open the Alta Management page.
- Open the Bull List tab, then click Add Bull in the upper right corner.
- Enter the bull's Sire Information, then select Continue. The following fields are required:
- IntRegNum: Animal's identification number. An IntRegNum must consist of 18 characters in this order: a 2-digit breed code, a 3-digit country code, a 1-digit gender code, followed by an identification number. For example, HO840M000123456789 represents a Holstein (HO) from the United States (840) that is male (M) with an identification number of 000123456789.
- NAAB Code(s): Animal's identification code assigned by the National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB
National Association of Animal Breeders. www.naab-css.org). AltaBLUE LINK can support up to 6 NAAB codes for a single animal.
- Sire: Animal's sire.
- Breed: Animal's breed. If you don't select a dam, you must select a breed from the drop-down list.
- Enter the bull's Genetic Values information, then select Continue. The genetic values are automatically populated based on the animal's parent averages, but you can edit the traits to be more accurate. Use the USA scale to configure trait values in this step.
