Manage Protocol Tasks

PULSE supports the following protocol task types, each of which has a unique icon:

• Reproduction (treatment)
• Reproduction (insemination)
• Health (treatment)
• Vet
• Recheck
• Vaccination
• Other (manual)
• Other (from protocol)

Select DairyComp/MyDC > Reports/Worklists > Open Worklists and click the Open Tasks list to open it. Search or filter your Open Tasks list for specific treatments or other criteria to simplify and streamline the administration of tasks. You can also print and save your lists for reference while treating animals or for record keeping purposes. Use the Upcoming Tasks page to check for tasks scheduled for tomorrow through the next 7 days to help you plan ahead.

• Search for specific tasks by name.
• Click Print to send your Open Tasks to the printer. If you applied filters, the list will print with the filters applied.
• Click Export to save the list as PDF or CSV. If you applied filters, the list will save with the filters applied.
• Click Filters for options to limit which tasks are shown. Filters are available from both web and mobile.

  After you select a pen (or all pens) in your Open Tasks list, you can tap Filters at the top right of the screen to set your options.

  

  A badge on the icon indicates how many filters are currently applied to your list.

  

  Proceed to Process Open Tasks from Mobile to learn more about working with protocol tasks in mobile.

1. Select DairyComp/MyDC > Reports/Worklists > Open Worklists and click the Open Tasks list to open it.

   

2. Use the Todo Tasks page to view animals that have outstanding tasks.
3. Click an animal to view outstanding tasks in a side panel and then click the Options button to set the task to Complete or Skip.

   

   You can also Complete or Skip tasks directly from the Todo Tasks page.

   

   What happens when I mark a task Complete? 

   Completing a task marks it as , it is automatically updated in the event side panel, and the task moves to the Done Tasks page in your Open Tasks list.

   What happens when I Skip a task? 

   You have the option to skip treatments that are not set to Required in your protocol setup. Reasons for skipping a task include signs of illness or a change in breeding plans for that animal based on other events. Skipping a task marks it as in the event side panel. A skipped task is considered Done and it moves from the Todo Tasks page to the Done Tasks page.

4. If you make a mistake, click the Options button and select Undo. The task moves from the Done Tasks page back to the Todo Tasks page.

   

1. Tap Lists and then the Refresh Lists button to make sure you have the latest worklists.
2. Tap the Open Tasks worklist, select a pen, and begin processing animals:
   Process animals with a scanner

   1. Verify that your scanner is connected, and begin scanning animals.
   2. If a scanned animal requires treatment, an audible cue, Check Task, plays and the task details are shown.

      

   Process animals without a scanner

   1. Tap a pen to begin processing animals.
   2. Tap an animal to view its tasks.
3. As you treat animals in the list, mark the tasks as Complete. If necessary, Skip tasks.
   What happens when I mark a task Complete? 

   Completing a task marks it as from the mobile app and the task moves to the DONE tab in your Open Tasks list.

   Open Tasks lists work a little differently than your standard mobile worklists, which require you to Process Changes before the updates are sent to PULSE. See Learn More about Open Tasks Lists (MyDC only) for more information.

   What happens when I Skip a task? 

   Skipping a task marks it as . A skipped task is considered Done and it moves from the TODO tab to the DONE tab.

4. If you make a mistake, tap the task and select Undo. The task moves from the DONE tab back to the TODO tab.

If an animal needs to be removed from a protocol, open the animal's event side panel from the CowCard or Open Tasks list. Then, click the Active Protocol for this animal toggle or click the Deactivate All Open Tasks option.
